Philosophy

Our students are offered a practical means of supporting themselves throughout their educational tenure, while at the same time, serve their communities with pride and enthusiasm. Although some of the students registered with our company have extensive experience in various trades, they are not and do not claim to be "professionals", or to offer professional services. However, with delegation and instruction from the customer, the right student can offer timely, competent and efficient help in completing many common tasks.

Executive Summary

"Odd jobs" seem to linger from time to time, at home and in the work place. Many of us find that we are too busy, not in the right frame of mind, or simply not able to complete the task without a helping hand.

Although there are employment agencies that provide temporary workers on an hourly basis, there are often hurdles facing domestic or business users of such services. The first obstacle facing an employer is to find the appropriate agency. The second hurdle is to retain the required help at a reasonable cost. A third is in trying to contract the help for the specific period and length of time that is most expedient to the employers' needs. Some agencies require that the employer contract services for a minimum of 4 hours, which may well exceed the requirement of the task. This adds an unnecessary and unreasonable expense to contracting the service.

Students That Do! eliminates these hurdles by offering the homeowner or business owner the opportunity to easily hire a "helping hand" for a wide variety of projects, for reasonable periods of time, and at affordable rates.

There is a demand for outside help on a variety of tasks. These include yard grooming and clean-up, general maintenance work, moving and packing, house cleaning, as well as computer help and tutoring services. Drawing on the energy, skills and enthusiasm of post-secondary level students, our referral agency matches a student to a task based on our assessment of that student's skill set and preferences. Charging out only a minimum of 2 hours, and with our affordable student rates, Students That Do! makes it very attractive for the prospective employer to engage its services.

Students That Do! has effectively addressed the difficult and often frustrating task of tracking down an extra pair of hands in a timely manner to quickly and conveniently satisfy customer requirements. This business model realizes the perfect balance between the ever-present, often exacting 'demand' and the motivated and energetic 'supply'.

Company Description

Students That Do! is based in Canada, with its head office located in Calgary, Alberta. The supporting team within Students That Do! contributes expertise from a broad spectrum of business backgrounds. The success of our company to date has been the result of our management's abilities, enthusiasm, and vision.

The pilot concept of Students That Do! was developed and tested in late 2002, proving and confirming the broad demand for this timely service. With the grand opening of our Head Office in June of 2003, the results to date have far exceeded all expectations and projections.
